FREE “THE PRESS” !!!

SPEAK FARRAKHAN!!! I am so proud of Minister Farrakhan in this clip. This is very important for people to understand the MEDIA is TAINTED!!!! It’s sad because the Media serves as the eyes for America. With all of these media channels being bought out by lobbyist and government it’s like there is fun house glasses put on the eyes of America. The vision of the world we live in is completely distorted due to the lack of a free press!!!!!!

What do you think?

A Comforter Like Christ

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. John 16:7.

The Comforter that Christ promised to send after He ascended to heaven, is the Spirit in all the fullness of the Godhead, making manifest the power of divine grace to all who receive and believe in Christ as a personal Saviour.

With the consecrated worker for God, in whatever place he may be, the Holy Spirit abides. The words spoken to the disciples are spoken also to us. The Comforter is ours as well as theirs.

There is no comforter like Christ, so tender and so true. He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. His Spirit speaks to the heart. Circumstances may separate us from our friends; the broad, restless ocean may roll between us and them. Though their sincere friendship may still exist, they may be unable to demonstrate it. . . . But no circumstances, no distance, can separate us from the heavenly Comforter. Wherever we are, wherever we may go, He is always there, one given in Christ’s place, to act in His stead. He is always at our right hand, to speak soothing, gentle words; to support, sustain, uphold, and cheer. The influence of the Holy Spirit is the life of Christ in the soul. This Spirit works in and through every one who receives Christ. Those who know the indwelling of this Spirit reveal its fruit—love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.

The Holy Spirit ever abides with him who is seeking for perfection of Christian character. The Holy Spirit furnishes the pure motive, the living, active principle, that sustains striving, wrestling, believing souls in every emergency and under every temptation. The Holy Spirit sustains the believer amid the world’s hatred, amid the unfriendliness of relatives, amid disappointment, amid the realization of imperfection, and amid the mistakes of life. Depending upon the matchless purity and perfection of Christ, the victory is sure to him who looks unto the Author and Finisher of our faith. . . . He has borne our sins, in order that through Him we might have moral excellence, and attain unto the perfection of Christian character.

From Devotional: Our Father Cares, pp. 210, 211.

My thoughts:

We often forget the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) when we look at the importance of God. We look at Father God as the one who gives us the law and sent His Beloved Son while we recall Jesus to be the Savior of the world who died for our sins. But when it comes to the Holy Spirit it almost seems as if the ball was dropped. But Touché, The Holy Spirit is the part of the God-Head that is reigning right now. He is our Comforter. As we are without the Father who made provisions for us and without the Son who died for us it is the Holy Spirit who is right next to us every step of the way until the finish line. He’s like the finial boost of energy that we get to finish the race. He is the anchor in a relay race the one who is going to bring you home. So I hope in reading this you realize more, as I have, the importance of the Holy Spirit in the God-Head!

Personality Traits!

Who am I?  Such a basic question that takes a life time to discover. One thing I realized is that often times I based who I was on the people of the things that I have been around. I have always been a people pleaser. I always have had a heavy heart for others a trait that I know I defiantly inherited from my mother. They way I have always seen myself is much like how others have portrayed me. This is a very dangerous way of seeing yourself because often times the portrayal of what other view I am can conflict from person to person. As a teen I had a hard time understanding this and subsequently it created two traits that I don’t believe I could have developed any other way. The first is drive. Because of where I come from I have been often told what I can’t do or what I can’t accomplish. This has created an unstoppable drive in me that has motivated me to never give up on myself. The other trait is humility. I have been able to take what others say to me and examine myself. This has given me the opportunity to asses my flaws and correct them. For example, I had a terrible attitude. No matter where I went people would say that I had a bad attitude but it didn’t change until I humbled myself and look at the validity in what they were all saying. You know everyone can’t be wrong. So when I realized that my attitude was the problem it humbled me and my drive kicked in for me to change this problem. Although I might not know exactly who I am or what I will be I know this one thing is true you are the sum of your choices and your surroundings will affect that sum.

15 Statistics Which Prove That The U.S. Economy Is In Much Worse Shape Than Most Americans Think

The American Dream
Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Yes, most Americans realize that the economy is not doing well right now, but most of them also believe that this is just a “temporary” downturn.  The mainstream media tells us over and over that a “recovery” has either already begun or that one is right around the corner.

Sadly, the truth is that the U.S. economy is in much worse shape than most Americans think.  Yes, there will be economic “peaks and valleys” as we move along, but it is absolutely imperative that all of us understand that we are in the middle of a long-term economic decline that has been caused by decades of horrendous decisions.  Thousands of businesses and millions of jobs have left the country and they aren’t coming back.  Last year, 23 manufacturing facilities a day were shut down in the United States and we have lost more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities since 2001.  Without enough good jobs to go around, millions of American families have lost their homes and millions of American families have been pushed into poverty.  Less good jobs also means that there are less people to pay the taxes we need to keep government services going.  Government debt at the local, state and federal levels has exploded as the tax base has dwindled.  We have become a nation that is very good at consuming wealth but that is not very good at creating wealth.  Just “tweaking” a couple of things here or there is not going to get our economy back “on track”.  We need fundamental changes to the way that we are doing things, and there are currently no signs that this kind of change is going to happen any time soon.

But many Americans don’t even realize what is happening.  As I wrote about recently, Americans are increasingly being segregated by income.  If you live in a “good neighborhood”, there is a decent chance that you might not know anyone that is having financial problems right now.  If you live in a “bad neighborhood”, it might feel like you are living in the middle of the Great Depression.

We live such insulated lives today.  We all get into our cars, go to work, get back into our cars, drive to the store, get back into our cars and drive home.  For most of us, interactions with other human beings are fairly limited.  Our perception of what is going on “in the real world” is greatly shaped by what the mainstream media tells us.

And the mainstream is constantly telling us that everything is going to be okay.

But is that the truth?

The following are 15 statistics which prove that the U.S. economy is in much worse shape than most Americans think….

#1 According to U.S. Representative Betty Sutton, America has lost an average of 15 manufacturing facilities a day over the last 10 years.

#2 Sadly, it looks like this trend is picking up momentum.  During 2010, an average of 23 manufacturing facilities a day closed down in the United States.

#3 Since 2001, the U.S. has lost a total of more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities.

#4 There are way too few jobs and this is leaving a lot of people out in the cold.  The average amount of time that a worker stays unemployed in the United States is now a whopping 39 weeks.

#5 Only 48 percent of all unemployed Americans are currently getting unemployment checks from the government.  Early last year, that number was at 75 percent.

#6 There doesn’t seem to be much hope that the job market will improve significantly any time soon.  One recent survey found that 77 percent of all U.S. small businesses do not plans to hire any more workers.

#7 Without enough good jobs to go around, millions of Americans are losing their homes.  Over the past four years, more than 100,000 homes in Las Vegas alone have been lost to foreclosure.

#8 As the economy struggles, new home sales continue to suffer as well.  In fact, new home construction is poised to set a brand new all-time record low in 2011.

#9 As family budgets get tighter, Americans are saving less money and a significant percentage of them say that they have no extra money left to spend at this point.  The savings rate in the United States in September was the lowest that it has been since December 2007, and according to one recent survey one-third of all Americans say that they have absolutely no spare cash to spend on anything right now.

#10 According to one recent survey, one out of every three Americans would not be able to make a mortgage or rent payment next month if they suddenly lost their current job.

#11 If you can believe it, extreme poverty is now at the highest level that the U.S. government has ever recorded.  Today, more than one out of every seven Americans is living in poverty and more than 20 million of them are considered to be living in extreme poverty.

#12 State and local governments all over the country have gotten into massive debt problems.  At this point, the municipal bond market in the United States is coming apart at the seams.  The following is a brief excerpt from a recent article that appeared on biggovernment.com….

Moody’s Credit Rating Service just announced the ominous trend that credit quality in the municipal bond market is falling at the fastest rate since the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008. Data released showed that 5.3 times as many municipal bonds were credit downgraded over the three last months than were upgraded.

#13 Today, more Americans than ever are relying on the government in order to survive.  A staggering 48.5% of all Americans live in a household that receives some form of government benefits.  Back in 1983, that number was below 30 percent.

#14 Young people in particular have been hit really hard by this economy.  If you can believe it, 37 percent of all U.S. households that are led by someone under the age of 35 have a net worth of zero or less than zero.

#15 The “wealth gap” between older Americans and younger Americans continues to grow.  According to an analysis of Census Bureau data done by the Pew Research Center, the median net worth for households led by someone 65 years of age or older is 47 times greater than the median net worth for households led by someone under the age of 35.

If you are doing good in the economy, you should be very thankful because there are tens of millions of Americans out there that are deeply, deeply suffering.

Most Americans understand that something is wrong with this country.  According to a recent Fox News poll, 76 percent of all Americans are “dissatisfied with how things are going in the country”.  At the beginning of this year, that number was only at 61 percent.

So obviously frustration is rising and a lot of Americans are extremely pessimistic right now.  But most of them also believe that things will get better soon if only they vote the “correct” politician into office.

So what do you think?

Do you believe that you have the answer to the economic problems facing this country?

If so, please feel free to leave your “economic plan” in the comments section below….

My Thoughts:

It so sad that people think that the economy is going to get better; that things are just going to recover as they did after the great depression. The reality is that they are NOT! As a college student things couldn’t appear dimmer to me right now. The fact that I am graduating in May is depressing because I know I will have to literally fight with people just to be placed in a basic job that High School graduated were getting ten years ago. Not only that these student loans. If I don’t have a job I have absolutely no idea how I begin to pay the interest let alone the principle I owe. I hope this is a wakeup call to many about the severity of the economic state that we are in. I know what I am about to say might sound ridiculous but if we want to restore the country then we need to Trash world currency and kill the dollar. The reason being has a lot to do with the debt that is associated with the dollar. Each dollar that you receive is worth its printed amount plus a set amount of debt that is attached to that dollar due to the fact that we are borrowing that dollar from a privately controlled bank. To save the United States as we know it economically we must TRASH THE DOLLAR!!!!!!

Transformation!

Today is definitely the day!!! I will be getting my first relaxer in four years today and needless to say I am extremely anxious! This morning I heavily conditioned my fro with Silk Elements’ Mixed Silk Leave-In Conditioner. I just sectioned off parts of my hair and placed a generous amount of the conditioner on my hair. I was extremely cautious not to use a comb or scratch my scalp because one thing that I defiantly can remember from getting a relaxer is that when the scalp is irritated it BURNS!!!!!! I am extremely luck today because on humid days here in Alabama my hair doesn’t stand a chance. It doesn’t matter how much moisturizer I place in my head it sucks it up like a Slurpee on a hot August day.  But when it rains like today the moister holds very well in my hair. I’m going to post some before pictures and after pictures when it’s done maybe I’ll even post a video.  But just stay posted!!!

Rise of the Apes

So I saw the movie Rise of the apes and I really related to it. It’s so crazy the lesions that are learned in that movie. It showed the destruction of greed with the African men at the beginning of the movie catching the free apes to sale them for experimentation. It then showed the inhumanity of the researchers to the affects their product may have on the apes as well as their family members. I like the fact that it showed that even those who are supposedly protectors of the apes where corrupt showing that no human is perfect.  I learned in this movie to look at all sides of the spectrum before making a judgment and often times we tend to do that.  What do you think?

So Costly—and Yet Free

By the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. Rom. 5:18.

Money cannot buy it, intellect cannot grasp it, power cannot command it; but to all who will accept it, God’s glorious grace is freely given. But men may feel their need, and, renouncing all self-dependence, accept salvation as a gift. Those who enter heaven will not scale its walls by their own righteousness, nor will its gates be opened to them for costly offerings of gold or silver, but they will gain an entrance to the many mansions of the Father’s house through the merits of the cross of Christ.

For sinful men, the highest consolation, the greatest cause of rejoicing, is that Heaven has given Jesus to be the sinner’s Saviour. . . . He offered to go over the ground where Adam stumbled and fell; to meet the tempter on the field of battle, and conquer him in man’s behalf. Behold Him in the wilderness of temptation. Forty days and forty nights He fasted, enduring the fiercest assaults of the powers of darkness. He trod the “winepress alone; and of the people there was none with” Him (Isa. 63:3). It was not for Himself, but that He might break the chain that held the human race in slavery to Satan.

As Christ in His humanity sought strength from His Father, that He might be enabled to endure trial and temptation, so are we to do. We are to follow the example of the sinless Son of God. Daily we need help and grace and power from the Source of all power. We are to cast our helpless souls upon the One who is ready to help us in every time of need. Too often we forget the Lord. Self gives way to impulse, and we lose the victories that we should gain.

If we are overcome let us not delay to repent, and to accept the pardon that will place us on vantage ground. If we repent and believe, the cleansing power from God will be ours. His saving grace is freely offered. His pardon is given to all who will receive it. . . . Over every sinner that repents the angels of God rejoice with songs of joy. Not one sinner need be lost. Full and free is the gift of saving grace.

My thoughts:

It’s so good to know that Jesus paid it all. As a person that strayed far away from the throne of God only to discover that Jesus was just one step away from me if I was to only pray. At one point in my life I thought that salvation was by works but it was truly a wonderful gift when I realized that the work that I was attempting to do was already accomplished for me on Calvary’s cross. It humbles me daily knowing the price that was paid for me to have that heavy weight lifted off of my shoulders.

Scripture:

1 John 1:9

King James Version (KJV)

9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I Guess I am My Hair

I chose to go back to relaxed hair because my natural hair no longer served its purpose. When I went natural I did it for several reasons but to encompass them all it had a lot to do with not knowing who I was. I was trying to find myself. I grew up with two older sisters and three brothers and let’s just say I was the roughest of the bunch. I was a certified tomboy. I was the darkest of all the girls and yes it created a complex. If anyone can remember growing up in the 90’s it was in to be light skinned. Clearly I wasn’t in. my older sisters as well as my mother are light skinned women, or as some may put it “red bones”. Growing up I had a hard time identifying with my beauty as a caramel skinned African-American woman. I went through several phases as a young girl, due to other things that we will get to in the future, and in each phase I remember them all being an attempt for me to define who I am. This last phase, the past four years of being natural, has finally put me on the page of understanding what it was that I was unconsciously doing. My emotions are mixed because it’s almost like I’m stepping into a new world however I have been there before.  I am excited about the journey that I am about to take tomorrow and I hope that each day helps me learn more and more about who I am.

Water Fluoridation War: Government Admits Dangers, Experts Speak Out

It was only a few years ago that if you labeled fluoride as a dangerous substance, you would be laughed at and scorned. For years, a select minority of individuals were the only ones raising the awareness of this health concern. Their cries have been and continue to be met with dissonance, despite the fact that the public’s opinion on fluoride has changed much in just a short time.

In fact, even the United States government has called for lower levels of water fluoridation following a study published in Environmental Health Perspectives, which found that increased fluoride consumption led to decreased IQ in children.

Communities are attempting to end water fluoridation, mainstream news is acknowledging its negative effects, and even a number of professional dentists have recognized the dangers of fluoride, and spoken out against its use and distribution. Most recently, the Palmer City Council of Alaska passed an ordinance repealing the town’s water fluoridation mandate.

Sodium fluoride, the voyage from rat poison to toothpaste

Mainstream dentistry and oral health has been the vehicle through which sodium fluoride, a chemical byproduct of fluorine, has been injected into our everyday lives. Said to ‘fight tooth decay’ and ‘strengthen enamel,’ it has been proliferated into nearly every form of toothpaste. Dentists also apply fluoride topically to teeth during routine visits to produce said effects. It has been added to municipal water supplies since the early 1900s, under the same premise of aiding oral health and hygiene.

Despite this, fluoride has a notoriously negative track record in terms of how it is used, and the products that use it as an active ingredient. While being used in toothpaste and various mouth washes, fluoride is also the main ingredient in many rat poisons, Prozac (an anti-depressant found to actually lead to suicide and other health conditions), and is even labeled as a toxic substance.

In fact, the safety precautions regarding sodium fluoride are quite telling themselves:

Risk and Safety Phrases.

R25 – Toxic if swallowed.
R32 – Contact with acid liberates very toxic gas.
R36/38 – Irritating to skin and eyes.
S1/2 – Keep locked up and out of reach of children.
S22 – Do not breathe dust.
S36 – Wear suitable protective clothing.
S45 – In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label whenever possible.)

Of course it is important to note that there is a difference between topical fluoride exposure and internal consumption. With topical fluoride exposure, the amount of actual internal exposure can be minimal. However, many forms of fluoride exposure are through the internal digestion of the substance that has been linked to reduced IQ in major studies. Fluoride tablets have been distributed to children in public schools, leading to the complete digestion of the substance, as opposed to topical use.

For quite some time there have been a host of individuals speaking out against water fluoridation and its inclusion in foods, oral hygiene products, and as psychotropic drugs. Many foreign countries have banned its inclusion in municipal water supplies, and many U.S. states are progressively moving towards the same, as research continues to come out on the subject.

More recently, many practicing dentists have admitted that water fluoridation is a health risk, and should be stopped. This demonstrates a profound nature of humility that most doctors and large drug companies have yet to realize. If the mainstream medical establishment could own up to its shortcomings and work towards changing them, there would be nothing to fear. Sadly, in pursuit of profit, they go to great lengths to maintain the guise of authenticity, while slowly shearing the individual of their health and wealth.

Hair-apy!!!!

Today marks the beginning of my hair journey. I have been Natural for about four years now and tomorrow I will be getting my first Relaxer. I know a lot of people may think that’s completely backwards but it’s not. I noticed that Hair is therapy to women. It’s an extension of our inner self. When I first went Natural it was in July of 2007. I was in a dark place in my life and everything that you could think about was out of control. My only way of controlling the madness was to take control of my hair. To some of you this might sound ridiculous but to others it sounds like Hair-apy (see Emotional section). So today I will spend my last full day with my Afro-centric Fro! J Don’t worry I will take pictures & post them soon.  Tonight I plan on doing a hot oil treatment and deep conditioner before the big day. I will twist my hair into to two strand twist and allow to air dry. I will let you know how it goes! Wish me luck!!!
